ADI Design Index 2025: Cesab B3 Li is in!
The 2025 ADI Design Index selection, curated by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory and guided by a diverse advisory committee, presents a rich and multifaceted portrait of Italian design. With 344 projects selected, the Index offers a comprehensive overview of contemporary design across various categories, from domestic living and professional spaces to mobility, lighting, food, and social innovation. This year’s selection emphasizes inclusivity and diversity, reflecting Italy’s vibrant design culture across regions. Notably, the Cesab B3 Li electric counterbalanced forklift has been selected in the Design for Work category, highlighting innovation in tools and environments that support professional activities.
The Index also aligns with the Italian Capitals of Culture initiative, with exhibitions scheduled in Milan and Agrigento, reinforcing its cultural and international relevance. The selected projects not only represent excellence in design but also serve as the first step toward the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI 2026. With a strong presence from Northern Italy and growing contributions from Central and Southern regions, the Index showcases how design continues to evolve as a key driver of innovation and identity across the country. The inclusion of student projects through the Targa Giovani further underscores ADI’s commitment to nurturing future generations of designers.
The prestigious Compasso d’Oro was last awarded to CESAB in 1994, for the design and innovation of the Blitz/Drago forklift series, and these designs are now part of the permanent exhibition in the ADI Design Museum.
